LMSRF 2024 AWARDS PROGRAM
REGATTA OF THE YEAR
Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation shall annually name a single sail racing event the Regatta of the Year.
- Race or Regatta with up to 50 boats competing
- Race or Regatta with over 50 boats competing
For a sail racing event to be eligible it shall:
Be hosted by a member club of Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Support the work of Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Be open to Individual members of Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Supply an invitation flyer for publication in Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation’s Lake Michigan
SuRF e-newsmagazine at least six weeks in advance of the event date
Provide a web site link for a Notice of Race with the submitted invitation flyer
SCHEDULE
The award is presented for events conducted between December 1 and November 30
No more than two entries per yacht club per year will be considered
REQUIRED ITEMS FOR ALL APPLICATIONS
The nominator shall submit a written statement of up to 500 words identifying the event and describing why the event should be recognized as LMSRF’s Regatta of the Year. Anyone may submit a nomination.

OUTSTANDING SAILING SCHOOL OF THE YEAR
Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation shall annually name one Outstanding Sailing School of the Year.
For a Sailing School to be eligible it shall:
Be an Associate or Supporting member of Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Support the work of Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Provide evidence of a learn to race program as part of the Sailing School’s curriculum
Provide a copy of Board of Director’s meeting minutes that certify the Sailing School’s total enrollment for the entire year
SCHEDULE
The award is presented for programs conducted between December 1 and November 30.
REQUIRED ITEMS FOR ALL APPLICATIONS
The nominator shall submit a written statement of up to 500 words identifying the event and describing why the Sailing School should be recognized as LMSRF’s Sailing School of the Year. Anyone may submit a nomination.

BOAT OF THE YEAR
Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation shall annually name a Boat of the Year.
For a boat to be eligible for consideration in any year:
Its owner shall be an Individual Member of Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation
Have competed at Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation member clubs in the year of consideration
Have an outstanding year of sailboat racing results
The entire boat’s crew shall display exemplary sportsmanship
Be an amateur

The award is presented for events competed in by the Sailor between December 1 and November 30
REQUIRED ITEMS FOR ALL APPLICATIONS
A member Yacht Club shall submit a written statement of up to 500 words identifying their club’s Boat of the Year and why it should be selected as the LMSRF Boat of the Year.

Have competed at Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation member clubs in the year of consideration
May have competed at venues other than Lake Michigan Sail Racing Federation member clubs
