Womens Sailing
Mission Statement
The LMSRF Women’s Sailing Committee promotes women’s sail racing competition on Lake Michigan for Offshore, Youth, and One Design sailors. It works to grow the numbers of boats that are women-owned, women-run, and women-crewed on starting lines.
Join Us!
We are looking for women interested in serving as liaisons for their clubs and organizations. You would not be committed to Board meetings (although you would always be welcome!) but you would be the point of contact between your club and the Women's Sailing Committee. For example, we would like to know who a woman moving clubs should contact if she is moving to your club. Could it be you? And we want to know what events your club might have for women interested in racing so we can spread the word. Interested in helping? Want to ask about a boat, crew, or race before heading out? The Women's Sailing Committee is looking for liaisons at clubs around Lake Michigan to help women ask those questions! Let us know if you can help.
Not sure about being on a boat, but want to be part of the racing fun? Join your local Race Committee! Ask us how! US Sailing has many opportunities to become Club Race Officer certified, as well as to take classes on becoming a part of Race Committee. If you are interested in those, you can check them out here:
